What is Household Energy Storage?
Household energy storage is a system that stores electricity at home for later use, such as batteries that save solar power for night or power outages.
What are the uses of home energy storage?
1. High electricity costs and unreliable grid?
A solar home energy storage system stores solar power in a home battery during the daytime, reducing dependence on expensive grid electricity and diesel generators. At night or during peak hours, the solar battery storage system supplies clean, reliable power for household appliances, helping families reduce electricity costs, achieve energy independence, and access affordable electricity even in weak-grid areas across Africa.
2. Frequent power outages and load shedding?
When grid power fails due to load shedding, blackouts, or extreme weather, a home battery backup system provides instant backup power for home. Designed for off-grid and unstable grid environments, the residential solar energy storage system ensures essential power for lighting, refrigeration, communication, and security—offering a dependable emergency power solution for African households.
How to Choose a Home Energy Storage Battery System?
GP provides reliable home energy storage solutions for uninterrupted power supply.
You provide us with the power consumption and usage time of all your electrical appliances during the day and night, and we calculate your daily power needs. Our sales team will then develop a customized energy storage system plan for you, including the number of photovoltaic panels, the power rating of the inverter, and the capacity of the storage batteries.
Taking Option 1 as an example:
Photovoltaic capacity: ≈ 3.5 kWp (6 × 580W)
Inverter: 6.2 kW (with margin for safety, beneficial for starting up loads)
Battery: ≈ 5 kWh (5.12V × 100Ah, mostly 51.2V 100Ah in practice)
✅ Meets daily electricity needs
Stable power supply during the day + battery life:
Refrigerator: All day
Lighting: All day
Router/Network equipment: All day
TV: Night
Washing machine: Daytime
Rice cooker: Intermittent use
Microwave oven: Intermittent use
Low-power air conditioner (1–1.5 HP): Short-term use during the day or night
